Background: Pressure ulcer is a complication that arises often due to a lowered general condition. Pressure ulcer arise because of long term compressive load application. That?s why it?s of utmost importance as a nurse to work in preventive ways, as the Pressure ulcer lead to physical, psychological and social consequences for the patient. Purpose: The purpose was to describe the patients experiences of living with Pressure ulcer.

ABSTRACTPressure ulcers are a serious health damage that causes great suffering, prolonged hospital stays and increased health care costs. Patients undergoing surgery are at high risk of developing Pressure ulcers and it is the operating theatre nurse responsibility to protect against health damage through nursing. There are little research made in the area of perioperative Pressure ulcer prevention. In order to investigate perioperative Pressure ulcer preventive care measures that are described in the litterature and to answer the question how the operating theater nurse can protect the patient, a pilot study of a systematic literature review was carried out. Data base searches were conducted in PubMed and Cinahl from where ten articles were selected and examined for their quality and content.

Pressure ulcers cause a lot of patients unnecessary suffering. This suffering could be decreased through improved knowledge about prevention, so that Pressure ulcer will not appear. The purpose with this review was to study how nurses assess risk and prevent Pressure ulcer, and to study how nurses use available knowledge. The method consisted of searches in databases and searching trough references. Our result is based on ten articles, qualitative, quantitative and reviews.

Trycksår kan medföra fysiska och psykiska komplikationer hos den drabbade.

Bakgrund: En kombination av olika riskfaktorer och ett yttre tryck bidrar till att patienter drabbas av trycksår. Sjuksköterskor i samarbete med undersköterskor ansvarar för att förhindra risken för trycksår hos patienter. Tidigare studie påvisar att femton procent av inneliggande patienter på sjukhus drabbas av trycksår. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att belysa varför patienter får trycksår trots att sjuksköterskan i samarbete med undersköterskan bör ha kunskaper för att förebygga vårdrelaterade trycksår. Metod: Författarna använder sig av metoden allmän litteraturöversikt.
